Why we need a new understanding of God.

The traditional religious belief is that almighty God controls everything that happens according to his will. If that is so, dare we ask a few questions of the Father we are told loves all of us as his children?

Why are we suffering this dreadful viral pandemic? Why is our world threatened by climate change and environmental destruction? Why are so many people living in poverty? Why are so many suffering from famine and sickness? Why is there so much crime, corruption, abuse, and addiction? Why, despite the sacrifice of his only Son, is sin as rife today as it ever was?

The Human Anathema - Why we might not be able to solve our global problems

The evidence is compelling, so compelling that no rational person can deny it - our world is in a mess.

We are facing potentially catastrophic worldwide problems: climate change, environmental destruction, rising sea levels, pollution, species extinction, pandemic threat, and more. Scientists warn we have twenty, maybe thirty, years before these problems become irreversible. If that happens, the prognosis is disaster on a global scale.

COVID JAB

Due to my age, I’m expecting my first COVID vaccination in the coming weeks. The pandemic has seriously affected all of us, but we are so lucky to live in the 21st Century. It used to be that we turned to God and religion to protect us from disease. Now though, science and medical research provide the solution to our difficulties. This begs the question: has science replaced God and religion as our saviour? It makes you wonder what will happen to the Church when the pandemic is over? Given the already declining numbers attending religious service, and the dearth of new vocations, does Christianity have to reinvent itself? Is it time to refocus away from the Cross of suffering to the Dove of hope? You can read about the history of pandemics and the dilemna facing the Church in my book FORSAKEN, what now for faith.

HOPE

HOPE

Just been in the garden to feed the birds. It’s a beautiful February morning. The Sun is shining low in the sky so its really lighting up the garden. Daffodils are growing tall, crocuses are popping their heads up, and primroses are warming up with colour after a cold January. Spring is on its way. It gave me hope the end of this dreadful contagion that’s afflicted all of us might soon be over. So I thought I’d share a few lines about hope from my book Jigsaw, the wisdom of a few wise words: ‘Hope is the fountain of the future. It offers purpose when everything else suggests despair … So, give yourself hope and encouragement; make it your constant companion in life. For without hope, there is no possibility of betterment.’

NUMOSAPIENISM, a new human way of being human...

No one can deny our world is in a mess. The question is, what are we going to do to resolve the problems confronting us? The pertinent word is ‘we’. It’s no use expecting governments, big business, or even the UN to sort it out for us. It’s something we are going to have to do ourselves. Consider the maths - there are more seven and half billion people on planet Earth. It’s us that causing the problem and it’s us that has to fix it.

It’s the individual decisions made by the billions of us that are causing the problems. Decisions about what we eat, where we go on holiday, how we heat our homes, how we travel, what we buy, and how we vote. Changing the things each of us do to ensure we individually reduce our impact on the environment will make a massive difference. We could be a game-changer if we just altered the decisions we are making everyday.

Numosapienism is a new approach to saving our planet that’s built on increasing the awareness of everyone to make the right individual decisions and thereby make a massive collective effort. Read my book, Numosapienism the new human way of being human and discover a new level of consciousness that might just save the planet and the human race,

2021 and beyond

Welcome to 2021 and a new chapter for me. I’ve been shielding from the pandemic for almost a year now. I’ve used the time to finish my books and get them ready for publication. In the process I’ve developed a new philosophy I call Theolosophy. It’s a blending of science and theology that explains the logic of the Universe and God. As a subset of Theolosophy, I have developed the concept of Deotheoism, a logical approach to understanding God. Deotheoism identifies the traditional functions assigned to God of creation and spiritual father figure as separate and unrelated. Creation is viewed as a continuous process of logistics and mechanics. The spiritual father figure is viewed as mankind’s own creation, conceived by our ancestors to help explain the unexplainable, provide comfort and hope at times of stress, and lay down a moral foundation for living in community. My books Common Origin (the Universe), Common Conception (Life) and Common Consensus (God) describe these new theolosophies. They are available on Amazon.

A personal message from David Michael Jones

We live in unprecedented times. Our world is a mess. Over-population, over-consumption, pollution, environmental damage, species extinction and climate change threaten our continued survival on this planet we call home. Inequality, poverty, famine, fundamentalism, terrorism, nationalism, militarism, refugee crises, illiteracy, debt, addiction, corruption, bigotry, abuse and crime create misery for whole swathes of our population.
