DEOTHEOISM:
A new understanding of the Universe, life, humankind and god
Religious convention presumes god created the world, controls everything that happens and is the spiritual father figure to humankind - he is our father; we are his children. There is though, no logical reason why the functions of creator and father figure to humankind should be attributed to one being. They are unrelated; one is an exercise in logistics, the other an aspect of spirituality. There is no logical or scientific basis either for the claim that god created the World. The reality is, the Universe is too massive and ageless to have been created by an external being, even a divine or supernatural one. Where could such a god have gotten all the material and energy from to create an infinitely vast Universe? To create the Universe from external resources would require that those resources existed somewhere. In other words, a Universe of resources must have existed from which the Universe was created - where could such a stockpile of resources exist if not within the Universe itself?
Claims that the Universe was created are further called into doubt by the reality that it is still being created. The Universe exists in a permanent state of transition; it is subject to constant and continuous change. Far from being created as a completed object, the creation of the Universe has never been completed, and quite possibly never will be. Claims then, that god created the Universe are called into question since the Universe was not created and has not been completed.
If god didn't create the Universe, we must also assume he didn't create us in his image or otherwise. In fact, it is far more likely that we created god in our image - we have after all created tens of thousands of differing variants of god throughout our history. It is probably also relevant to keep in mind, that if god was the all powerful creator of everything, he would have found some way to communicate a common message to us so we could all worship the one god, and thereby overcome the treachery of religious rivalry, persecution, warfare and genocide. The fact that we continue to kill in gods name surely begs many questions about his existence, power and influence over us.
Recognising these issues with our current belief in god leads to a new understanding that the functions of creation and spiritual father figure to humankind need to be separated and formulated differently. Deo-theo-ism comes from the Roman and Ancient Greek words for god (Deo and Theo) in recognition of the separateness of these functions of creation and spirituality. They are treated entirely separately within Deotheoism which presents a logical, rational and scientific understanding of the Universe, life, humankind and our relationship with the god of our own creation.
The new understanding of Deotheoism covers the origins of the Universe, the creation of life, the evolution of humankind and the development of our spiritual relationship with god. It is presented in a series of books, starting with Tempus Momentus.
This revolutionary book discusses the need for a new understanding of god as a forerunner to us resolving the potentially catastrophic problems that confront us. The premise is, 'we need a new understanding of god because the old one isn't working. If it was, we’d have a unified belief system that would bring us all together for the common good of humankind. We’d have Universal peace, equality for all, and a solution to the global problems confronting us'.
